This Sunday, April 7, 2013, John Besh will appear at the Larose Family Fun Festival, cooking shrimp creole and providing samples from 1 pm to 3 pm. (I’ll be introducing chef Besh, so you can see me, too.) The three-day small town fair begins on Friday; a complete schedule of events is found over here. Sunday’s highlights include pirogue races in Bayou Lafourche, with junior, senior, team, and “costume” divisions.

This weekend also marks the local premier of Besh’s new PBS series, “The Family Table”, which will air on Saturday, April 6th, at 9:30 AM. The series and companion cookbook focus on family meals and home cooking.
Ahhh, Alexis’ eye candy. Every time we see him on TV she can’t stop saying how cute she is. I tell her he is a talented chef and to quit objectifying him. We reverse the conversation when Nigella is on, ha ha. I missed it, I’ll have to go put it into the DVR to record the next time. Thanks for the notice.
She would have been thrilled today, then. He was up close and personal, shaking hands and posing for pictures, signing aprons and books. Even had his youngest kids cooking alongside.
