Pound cake, that is. Off-and-on rain plus thick clouds equals a high temperature of just 74 degrees; perfect weather for late summer baking. A new, stoneware tea loaf pan arrived yesterday; the long, narrow shape promised to shave baking time off of pound cakes, quick breads, and loaves.
It worked pretty well–a standard 1/2 cup of butter pound cake took 55 minutes to bake, rather than recipe’s recommended 75 minutes.
