“FREE RAY CHARLES CULINARY LECTURE IS MONDAY: The Third Annual Ray Charles Lecture, “Three is a Magic Number: American Indians, Africans, and Europeans in New Orleans Cuisine,” a slide lecture by Jessica B. Harris, Scholar in Residence in the Ray Charles Chair in Material Culture, will be given at Dillard University, 2601 Gentilly Bvd. on Monday at 6:30 p.m. The lecture will be held in DUICEF 106. Back in 2003, Ray Charles contributed $1 million to Dillard University in support of African-American culinary history. Tonight’s lecture is an annual public program of the professorship he funded.
