Whew, 2013 has been a busy year. Between moving and unpacking, working and volunteering, I’ve had little time to spare for blogging. Today is Thanksgiving, our food centric national holiday, and I’m thankful that anyone is still bothering to read this blog after my long absence.
I’m also thankful for the Roman Candy Man’s new mule—the little white wagon is again rattling around Uptown New Orleans in proper fashion.
Thanksgiving lunch promises to hold gumbo, turkey, ham, creamed kale, speckled butter beans, stuffed potatoes, and three different kinds of pie. I hope your day is full of good food and good feelings!
I LIKE PIE!!!!!!!

Thanks Celeste! Enjoy your Thanksgiving Day Feast. Got to get the duck ready to roast and a yellow squash tomato casserole. Of course mashed spuds-JimZ
Since it’s just the two of us and today is our anniversary, we are going out to dinner this afternoon (roast turkey and wild pig on the menu). We will do our turkey thing for Christmas. Meanwhile, the Vallette house purchase appears to be going forward so we look forward to future Thanksgivings in New Orleans.
Yay! You’re back!
