Reader Maurice alerted me to the 1st Annual Westwego Chili Cookoff, scheduled for Saturday, February 12, 2011, at the Westwego Farmer’s Market. Details and a registration form can be found here. I’ll be out of town that weekend, but I’m sure it will be a tasty time, as every participant’s chili must contain at least 35(!) pounds of meat.
Aw, no vegetarian category? C’mon, Westwegans, chili with beans and no meat is still chili. (Yes, I did write that sentence merely to use the word “Westwegan.”)
