The New York Times’ Sam Sifton dined around New Orleans, and it’s nice to see Vietnamese restaurants get their due in a national-media piece about NOLA. See the slide show, which includes the lovely ladies at Dong Phuong’s bahn mi counter!
I linked to his “food diary” a short while ago, and it was clear from the entries that he’d visited New Orleans. Now we know he did indeed visit Dong Phuong, Tan Dinh, and Pho Tau Bay, as well as Nine Roses….sounds like Sifton can sniff out a better meal than Alan Richman any day.
Also in the Times is John T Edge’s piece on Vietnamese immigrants selling Cajun-style boiled crawfish in restaurants across America…
