Salon started a food section in late November under the direction of Francis Lam, formerly of the late Gourmet magazine. Thus far, it’s filled with interesting content ranging from the price of champagne to desert gardening to recipes for lentils. While I’m happy that online food content is expanding in the wake of Gourmet’s closing, it’s hard to read from a computer screen while walking on a treadmill, riding public transportation, or hanging out in a waiting room….all places perfect for a printed magazine.
The best feature of Salon’s food section: the “food news roundup”, which will save you lots of clicking here & there.
