We all get stuck in ruts. Lately, my rut has involved trips to Oak Street to visit the chiropractor and eat a panino & some gelato at Gelato Pazzo (8115 Oak Street, just off of Carrollton Avenue). Made on ciabatta rolls from La Boulangerie, the panini are stuffed with a wide range of fillings, including several vegetarian and vegan options. Pictured is a sandwich stuffed with grilled portabello mushrooms and gorgonzola cheese, but my current favorite is seared tuna dressed with a black-olive pesto. At $9, it’s stuffed to bursting with still-rare tuna; I enjoyed it so much I forgot to take a picture.
CLOSED: As of fall 2010, Gelato Pazzo is closed.
