Teddy’s Diner (13527 River Road, Luling, LA, 985-785-1010) turns out a pretty good New York style pizza: quality cheese, made in house dough, and a thin-crust, floppy slice with a foldable border. Teddy is a transplanted New Jerseyite, and it shows. The diner’s menu is a mix of poboys, pizza, snowballs, and weekday lunch specials, with the added Jersey-ish menu attractions of chicken parmigiana and Taylor ham (aka pork roll), a cold cut beloved by natives of his home state. The little joint is nothing to look at, but the pizza is lovely to behold.
