Fig, blue cheese, and serrano flatbread

P6120328Tapas at Rambla (217 Camp Street, NOLA, inside the International House hotel) are the perfect choice when hot weather dulls the appetite.  My favorite offering on the current menu is a flatbread topped with figs, blue cheese, and serrano ham; the salty/sweet combination shakes my appetite out of its summer doldrums.  Plus, it’s easy to replicate at home, either with fresh, peeled figs or a jar of fig jam.
