fortune-cookie-chroniclesThe Southern Food & Beverage Museum’s “DISH” book club meets this Saturday at noon; the book du jour is Jennifer 8 Lee’s Fortune Cookie ChroniclesLee, a NY Times journalist, tracks the intricacies of Chinese food in America.  Ever wonder who “General Tso” of chicken fame really was?  Or who makes all the terrible, too-salty soy sauce in those ubiquitous clear plastic packets?  The book is a fascinating look at a culinary culture with roots in China that has evolved into a distinctly American product.
