Massive quantities of gumbo are in my immediate future. The French Food Festival, in Larose, happens this weekend…October 26, 27, and 28, 2012. The days leading up to the festival are filled with chopping, organizing, painting, and the like, all carried out by volunteers. See, the festival is a fundraiser for the nonprofit Larose Civic Center, so many good people come together to make it happen each year.
For 2012, I hand silkscreened a very limited run of posters, pictured above, in acrylic ink on acid free paper. The only was to buy a print is to visit me at the Festival! I’ll be in the Seafood Gumbo stand, all weekend.
Gumbo-less in Louisvilke, Kentucky. LOVE the poster and so sorry I won’t be able to get one!
Ah, ’tis a sad thing to be gumbo-less. Maybe this weekend’s cooler weather will inspire you to cook your own!
If you have oil, onion, flour, chicken, and sausage and a pot you should not be gumbo-less. Somebody has to make good sausage in KY. It could be KY Style. Wish I were there.
