Don’t try to rob someone who cooks in cast iron

A would-be thief tried to rob Pop’s Barbecue in New Iberia on Monday.  He failed.  When he brandished a knife, the female “victim” picked up a nearby pot and beat him (repeatedly) on the head.  (Read the story here.)  Police are looking for the teenaged assailant, described as having “visible bruises”.

NPR picked up the story, too:  listen here.

Moral of the story, #1:  don’t bring a knife to a BBQ restaurant–those people cut meat ALL DAY LONG.  Their knives are BIGGER than anything you can comfortably hide in your pants pocket.

Moral of the story, #2:  don’t attempt to rob someone within arm’s reach of cast iron cookware.
