Setting aside my anti-cupcake bias for a moment:  the St. Charles Parish Humane Society is hosting “Pupcake Wars”, an animal-themed cupcake decorating contest at the December 3rd Bark in the Park festival.  Entrants must bake and decorate at least a dozen cupcakes, with bonus points awarded for every cupcake beyond 12 donated to the cause.

After judging, the cupcakes will be sold to the public.  Just $5, pre-registration, and at least a dozen cupcakes gets you into the contest.  The festival will offer pet photos with Santa, pet microchipping, pet adoptions, and rabies vaccinations, with all proceeds going to the St. Charles Parish animal shelter and animal medical care.
