Today marks the start of the three-day French Food Festival in Larose, LA…..I’ll be too busy to blog, but know that I’ll be making the first of many gigantic rouxs by noon today. Come out and see us in the seafood gumbo booth….
The weather promises to be damn near perfect…the festival offers folklife demonstrations, craft vendors, a carnival midway (yes, with a Ferris wheel), an art show, live music and dancing all weekend, and (of course) food ranging from alligator sauce piquante to fried pickles. The entire festival is staffed by volunteers, and all proceeds support a 46-acre not-for-profit park and community center.
