Back from internet exile with news…

The biggest news (if you live or work in Uptown/University section of NOLA):  La Divina Gelateria is opening a full-service cafe location on the Loyola University campus, inside Carrollton Residence Hall.  According to La Divina:

“We are opening on the 22nd at Loyola. We’ll have our full cafe there with panini, coffee, gelato & pastries. AND, we’ll be adding a daily pasta special to the menu as well. I hope to post our menu here (on Facebook) today…

We’ll be open… from 11am -midnight M -R, and 11am -2am Fri & Sat, Sun 11am – 10pm. We look forward to seeing you on campus!”

So friend La Divina on Facebook to keep up with the latest info.  I, for one, will be happily standing in line for a properly made cappucino at 11 am on August 22nd.

And in other newsPinkberry is set to open a downtown location on August 20th.  Downtown Pinkberry will occupy a storefront in the 300 block of Canal Street, adjacent to the Doubletree Hotel.

  1. I noticed the new Pinkberry this morning on the way to work. They have plywood barriers up around the shop, but you can see the white plastic wavy light fixtures and the other signature design elements through the tops of the windows.

I don’t think it’s very well known (at least by locals, who never go in there), but there’s a frozen yogurt place inside the Jax Brewery building, on the first floor. I’ve never been because if I’m that close to Meltdown it’s no contest. A few of my coworkers have gone though, and they seem to like it.

    • I haven’t been inside the Jax Brewery since before Katrina. Virgin’s megastore was the only reason to go inside the place….
