Shouldn’t a six-inch shrimp poboy contain at least SIX shrimp?  Last week, a $9.95 shrimp poboy at Mahony’s (3454 Magazine Street, 504.899.3374) contained exactly FIVE (count ’em, right there in the photo) shrimp.  Yes, the shrimp were on the large side.  Still, at that price, the shrimp are nearly $2 each.  Sheesh,a half shrimp or oyster loaf down the street at Casamento’s is just shy of $6.50…

Despite the apparent shrimp shortage, Mahoney’s thin-cut onion rings were indisputably excellent, with an appropriately low $4.95 price tag for the ample large order.
