South Louisiana based food & beverage writer Todd Price , editor of the New Orleans edition of the Zagat guide, launched a “New Orleans Best Bars” application for iPhones (or the iPod touch).  It costs $1.99, and the guide features 50 different drinking venues, complete with maps, photos, descriptions, and web links:  download it here (or search “New Orleans Bar Guide” in the iTunes app store).

Price plans to expand the guide by late summer to include 75-100 drinking establishments.  Go ahead, download a copy and get the inside scoop on the best bars in our bar-centric city…I love the interface with iPhone’s GPS location function:  you can see, at a glance, just how close you are to the other bars good enough to make the guide:  it’s an instant pub-crawl function.
