At the conclusion of Sikh wedding ceremonies, the assembled participants receive a portion of karah parshad, a sweet, cooked paste.  It is made of equal parts flour, sugar and clarified butter, symbolizing the equality of genders.

Best wedding reception food ever:  bindi (okra) masala, paneer in a spicy red sauce, and a cauliflower & potato curry.  Now I’m hunting for dry-fried okra curry recipes……..I could eat this okra every day.
