An empty fridge

After four days without power thanks to Hurricane Gustav, the contents of both fridge and freezer were a total loss.  Even the cornmeal smelled rancid.  Today, I’m soaking dried beans for a 15-bean soup, making a lo-oong grocery list, and thinking about baking some bread.  Oh well, I guess the fridge’s worth of half-used condiments and mystery frozen bundles needed to be tossed out at some point anyway.  I won’t run out to restock too soon, as I don’t like the looks of Hurricane Ike.
